Unlike consultants who are enamored with technology, at DataTamer we are interested in making your business prosper. We understand what it is like to meet a payroll or pay the rent at the end of the month.  At DataTamer, we will always recommend the most cost-effective solutions for you.  We realize that sometimes that does not mean purchasing new equipment but rather using the equipment and/or software you have already purchased more effectively.

Questions To Ask A Consultant

Does your consultant listen?

At DataTamer, we speak English--not "geek".  Before we try and do anything we will sit down with you and determine what are your needs and desires.  Then we try to find a realistic "match".

Does your consultant sell hardware/software?

At DataTamer, we do not believe in selling you any product.  We are your agent.  We represent you.  Our duty is to you, the client, rather than making a sale.

What is the largest installation you have been responsible for?

The largest installation we have been responsible for is 1,700 computers spanning the globe in the United States, Canada, Asia and the UK.

What is your "Privacy Policy"?

Whatever we discuss or see stays in the room.  We work with many attorneys and doctors.  We understand what confidentiality is all about.  If you desire, we will gladly sign a non-disclosure agreement.

What is your consultant's business experience?

Our principal, David Slon, has worked with individuals, small businesses and large corporations. During his career he has had budget responsibility for over 2 million dollars annually.

How do you provide support?

We provide both on-site and remote support.  Unlike smaller consultants we do not use "free" software that provides unlimited access to your network.  Our remote access software requires your permission to let us access your system.  When we have completed the task, the software is removed automatically.  At your request, we can install software that will give us unlimited access to your network should you want a service agreement that requires after hours work.  For your confidentiality, all of our remote access software uses military grade encryption for the transmission of your data to us.

Network Design

Designing a network is not a task to be taken lightly.  The equipment you choose will be with you for many years.  It takes an expert to design an efficient, fast and cost-effective network.  Our smallest network was  two computers.  The largest network we were responsible for was the design 1,700 workstations.  We were also responsible for the purchase of all of the equipment as well as the repair.

System Analysis

Is your network working at peak efficiency?  Can you expand your network without spending excessive sums of cash?  What will it take to give your employees remote access?  Do you need to replace your equipment or can you do an inexpensive system upgrade?  These are the types of questions that we at DataTamer address when we undertake a complete "system analysis".

Training

Who says a computer is easy to use. At DataTamer we understand how difficult it can be to learn how to use the new programs and equipment as they come out. DataTamer specializes in training that is customized to your needs--not a generic class. Our motto is simple "Using Technology To Work Smarter" and that is precisely the kind of training we provide!

Working smarter means you shouldn't have to leave your office to learn the new program. We will come to you so that you don't waste valuable time fighting traffic.  In addition, we provide full "remote services" so we can train one employee or several hundred through the use of cost effective webinars.

The staff at DataTamer has provided customized training to both executives at large corporations as well as individuals. Some of the companies that have been trained by DataTamer's award winning staff includes: AAA, ARCO, Mitsubishi, Levine Communications Office, Oakwood Worldwide and many others.

Computer Repair

You depend on your computer and we know it!  We provide cost effective repair at a reasonable price either remotely or on-site.  DataTamer was one of the pioneers in remote access.  We started repairing computers remotely in 1984!  If you can connect to the internet, we can service your equipment remotely with a minimal disruption to you or your employee.
